Getting Started with Meditation?
The Birmingham Shambhala Center offers several supports for helping someone begin or reestablish a meditation practice.
A good and simple way to begin is to attend any of our weeknight sitting meditation sessions. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night, there is open meditation from 7 – 8 pm, and there is always an instructor available to provide orientation to the Center and initial meditation instruction.
To deepen either a beginning or an established meditation practice, we offer a three-hour class, “Learn to Meditate” from 9 to noon on a Saturday morning every other month. This includes more detailed meditation instruction and opportunity for practice and discussion. Check our Calendar for times.
To support an ongoing meditation practice, members of the Center may develop a relationship with any of our Meditation Instructors.
